Even though the latest central processing units released from Intel and the graphics processing units launched by Advanced Micro Devices have been getting most of the attention as gaming solutions, the market still has more to offer. Certain high-performance system configurations, whether mobile or desktop, have been circulating for months. One such system for the gaming enthusiasts is the LG X-Note R590, a performance-packed gaming laptop that was released in South Korea about three months ago. LG is finally making it available in Europe but under a different name, the WIDEBOOK R590.

Even though the laptop lacks the latest DirectX 11 graphics support and other advanced features provided by the latest AMD cards, it still packs a strong set of features. It is powered by an Intel Core i7 CPU at 1.73GHz, features 4GB of DDR3 RAM and employs the high-end NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M GPU.

This graphics solution boasts one gigabyte of VRAM and will smoothly render even graphically intensive games on the notebook's 15.6-inch display. The laptop's screen itself uses LED backlighting and supports a maximum resolution of 1600×900 pixels.

Of course, a high-performance gaming notebook would be incomplete without suitable storage and multimedia options. The WIDEBOOK R590 will pack a hard drive with a storage capacity of 500 GB and will be equipped with a DVD writer or a Blu-ray drive. The CPU and graphics card will easily handle Full HD video and audio content. In addition, the laptop will feature a 1.5-megapixel webcam and the total weight of the device will be of 2.5 kg.

The renamed LG X-Note R590 will come pre-loaded with the Windows 7 Home Premium operating system. It is still unknown when exactly the product will debut in Europe but, depending on the configuration, its price will range between 1,299 and 1,599 Euro.
