South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics has seen great success with the LG G3 flagship handset ever since releasing it in its homeland market, and new reports on the matter unveil that the company has already passed the 100,000 sold units mark in the country.

Previous reports on the matter had already suggested that LG was selling around 25,000 LG G3 units per day, and new info coming from Korea IT Times claims that the phone has reached said 100,000 milestone in only five days after being put up for sale.

Apparently, this makes the LG G3 the fastest selling smartphone that LG has ever released, while also putting it well above the predecessor, LG G2.

Released back in August 2013, the LG G2 managed to sell less than 10,000 units per day, which determined the South Korean phone maker to announce the new flagship only 10 months after last year’s high-end device.

The fact that the new phone is selling twice as fast when compared to the predecessor clearly shows that the company has made the best move by launching it so early.

Apparently, one of the main reasons that the device is selling so great is related to its hardware specifications, which are above other flagship phones out there.

For those out of the loop, we should note that LG unveiled the smartphone last week with a 5.5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 2560 x 1440 pixels (Quad HD) resolution.

Moreover, the handset arrives on the market with a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor inside, as well as with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory (a model with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage was also unveiled).

On the back, the LG G3 sports a 13-megapixel camera, which also sports laser autofocus, so that users could snap photos faster than before. A front camera for video calling was also included, along with Google’s Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system.

However, the specs are not the only thing that helped the smartphone gain traction in South Korea, as LG is also said to have kicked off an aggressive campaign for promoting it.

On top of that, Korea IT Times notes that LG has managed to catch up with rival Samsung in terms of product quality, and that it did so last year, with the arrival of LG G2.

During the past two years, the mobile phone maker has managed to steadily increase its profits, and it appears that it might be able to continue doing so, especially now that LG G3 has landed on shelves.
