LG announced today, during an event held in Sao Paolo, Brazil, the upcoming availability of the high-end LG Secret mobile phone for select markets in South America. And while users might expect us to talk about the first Secret handset, the KF750 model, LG is actually releasing a Secret named KF755.

The difference between the two phones consists in the fact that the KF755 does not feature 3G connectivity and it also lacks a front camera for video-calls. Except for that, the phones are identical, both in features and design.

Most of the important mobile markets from South America (like Brazil, Argentina, Chile or Colombia) have at least one mobile operator that offers 3G services. This being said, I can't actually understand the reason behind downgrading the Secret from 3G to 2G.

Anyway, even without 3G, LG Secret has lots of highlights. These include a 5 Megapixel camera (with auto focus, flash, face recognition and video recording), a 2.4 inch touchscreen display with 262K colors and 240 x 320 pixels, full HTML browser, accelerometer, Music and Video players, FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, document viewer and so an. All these are packed into a beautiful slider case that weighs 116 grams and, when closed, measures 103 x 50.8 x 11.8 millimeters.

LG Secret KF755 will first be available in Brazil (via Vivo and Claro) and in Venezuela (via Movistar). After that, LG will continue to release its new high-end phone in the other South American markets.

The retail price of LG KF755 for South America has not been announced yet. However, the handset will probably be sold for a bit less than in Europe, hence users should expect to pay for Secret the equivalent of about 400 Euro ($620).

Since its launch in Europe (about two weeks ago), the 3G version of LG Secret has sold in more than 200,000 units, which is quite an achievement considering the fact that we're not talking about an affordable handset.
