Although LG confirmed that some of its Optimus series will receive the Gingerbread upgrade sometime in the future, the handset maker did not reveal any information regarding the update schedule.

Fortunately, Android fans who own one of the premium Optimus devices will receive the long awaited Gingerbread upgrade in November.

According to LG, Android 2.3 Gingerbread update will roll out on November 1 for the Optimus 2X, in the week commencing November 21 for the Optimus 3D, as well as in the week commencing November 28 for the Optimus Black.

However, the upgrade will be pushed only for open models in Europe, while the exact timing of the upgrades in other markets will be announced later.

In addition, LG advises customers to “contact local service representatives to check the specific upgrade schedule in your market.”
