You all might not know this, LG is not just a consumer electronics maker. In South Korea, it is also a wireless operator.

And like all operators, it can get other companies to make tablets for it, which it then rebrands as it wishes.

In this case, the company got Samsung's Galaxy Tab 7.0 and rebranded it as Homeboy.

An alternative to Amazon's Kindle, it has access to 50 TV channels and will let owners watch home-stored movies, listen to music, read e-books, etc.

In fact, Homeboy is marketed as a home appliance rather than a as consumer electronic. The slate can act as a Closed-circuit television camera (CCTV). People can watch on a smartphone anything the tablet observes at home, or wherever else it is left.
