Some may remember that, back in 2011, LG introduced a product called Optimus Pad, running Android.
Simply put, the tablet was a bust, sales-wise. It was too early for people to lunge at slates and it wasn't exactly the best example of a good tablet either.
Now, though, it is proving useful in identifying another potential Android slate.
A leak says that LG is preparing something called V500 / V507L.
It is described simply as an “LG Mobile Device,” but because there was never a smartphone called something involving the letter V followed by 3 numbers, it is assumed this is a tablet.
It doesn't hurt that the Optimus Pad was called LG V900 back in its day.
The dual model numbers suggest that one tablet will have Wi-Fi and the other will get 4G LTE on top of that.
As for the rest of the hardware, the central chip might be a Qualcomm Snapdragon, possibly S4 Pro quad-core.
More information may or may not surface at IFA 2013 in Berlin, Germany, in September.
