With the Consumer Electronics Show hype almost at its maximum, all companies have been taking turns previewing or announcing what products and technologies they will have available for this year's edition. Among other things, companies like Acer and Lenovo introduced their respective laptops while Freescale, VIA and Ralink unveiled their individual connectivity solutions. LG announced that its own CES release would consist of two new Blu-ray players which, besides updated design, would sport increased media streaming options.

The Consumer Electronics Show will begin on Thursday, January 7th, and lasts until January 10th. Among the participants will be the companies mentioned above, as well as many other companies including Intel, AMD, NVIDIA, VIA, ASUS, Lenovo, Samsung, Dell, HP, Symwave, Touch Revolution and many others.

The Korean company provided very few, if any, details on the exact specs of its upcoming devices. The only real hints implied some enhancements in the area of video streaming services and the products' overall design. Currently, the devices are suspected to come with an enhanced NetCast service. This means that, besides the currently available media streaming services like CinemaNow, Netflix, Pandora and YouTube, the players may be able to access extra content. In addition, it is suggested that the models will feature the ability to download media files, whether movies or music, and even create their own media libraries. These libraries would then be sortable and searchable by metadata, such as the album name or the artist.

In addition to video and music, the prepared players supposedly enable the accessing of weather forecasts or other news. This will be possible through Internet information services, which Blu-ray players are normally built with. LG's approaching devices, however, may boast increased connection capabilities, such as Wi-Fi, BD-Live and DLNA, besides the regular Internet-only content.

The actual products were teased by company on their Korean Site.
