South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics is expected to come to the market in the not too far future with a new, highly appealing smartphone that would run under Google's Android mobile operating system.

The upcoming device is reportedly boasting some pretty impressive features, such as the fact that it would be powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 2 chip.

According to a recent article on Engadget, there are great chances that this smartphone would be the first smartphone to put together a dual core chip and Google's Android operating system.

For the time being, however, it appears that there are no specific details available on the name under which the handset would be released on the market, though it is known internally as Star.

Of course, this would be merely a codename, while the actual market moniker is expected to be quite different from that.

A series of photos with the upcoming LG Android device are also available, offering us the possibility to make an idea on how it would look like when released on the market.

At the same time, it appears that some more details on its specs list also emerged, including the fact that LG would pack a 4-inch touchscreen display with it.

Not to mention that the handset is expected to pack an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with 1080p video recording capabilities.

As can be seen in the available photos, the mobile phone sports a massive Google logo on the back, which suggests that the handset won't sport a custom user interface loaded on top of that stock Android OS it would run.

The upcoming device should also include a front-facing camera, along with a microSD memory card slot, microUSB connectivity, and a 1500mAh battery to power them all.

No info on when exactly would the device land on shelves emerged, but early 2011 seems to be the lucky time frame for enthusiasts. More photos with the handset are available at Engadget here.
