Given the fact that, after all, 3D has reached more or less every segment of the display market, from the tiny 3DS to the huge 3D-capable LED TVs and PDPs, it should come as no surprise that Mobile TVs are set to go 3D as well, one of the first companies to actually have such devices on display at the incoming CES 2011 show being none other than LG.

Of course, as just about every piece of pre-CES announcement, this piece of news is just in rumor stage right about now, but it certainly seems to be accurate enough.

So, as our colleagues from Akihabara News report, it seems that the latest announcement coming from the South Korean consumer electronics giant is related to the field of mobile TV sets, which are pretty common in Korea, Japan, etc., but less so in other parts of the world (in fact, Mobile TV was only introduced in the US back in 2010).

But since more and more TV programs will be available in 3D over the next period of time, LG has decided to develop Mobile Digital TVs with 3D capabilities, actually showcasing one such model, before the official CES 2011 unveiling.

Unfortunately, very little is known about the forthcoming device, apart from the fact that it runs on the LG2161R MDTV chip with NRT (Non-Real Time) technology and is apparently capable of working fine even when used in a vehicle traveling at high-speeds (up to 200 km/h - 125 mph).

Naturally, it remains to be seen what will be the other features these displays will provide and whether they will require glasses or not, but since the pretty Korean model showcasing the device isn't wearing any, we'd be inclined to believe that the Mobile Digital TVs developed by LG will be glasses-free.

These are just about all of the details available for the time being, but stay tuned, since we'll come back with an update on this topic during CES 2011, when LG makes its official announcement regarding its forthcoming 3D Mobile Digital TVs.
