As expected, LG and Prada have revealed a new premium smartphone, the LG Prada 3.0. LG sent invites for a launch event about a week ago, which pointed to a Prada phone release, so there’s no surprise here at all.

Dubbed LG Prada 3.0, this is the third handset created by LG in cooperation with Prada. The first two Prada phones were launched in 2007 and 2008. All Prada phones are aimed at fashionistas, so don’t expect any out of the ordinary specs.

Apart from the amazing minimalist look, the Prada 3.0 smartphone comes with an impressive 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen, which is based on LG’s NOVA Plus display technology. The WVGA screen emits 800 nit brightness, which make it one of the brightest displays available in the market.

Although the Prada 3.0 runs Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread, LG an Prada confirm that the smartphone is planned for an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade in 2012, though no certain timeframe is mentioned yet.

Furthermore, the device is powered by a dual core TI OMAP4430 processor clocked at 1 GHz, and packs 8GB of internal memory, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion.

On the back, there’s an enhanced 8-megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus, which can record full HD (1080p) videos.

The phone features HSPA+ and Wi-Fi support, along with Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS with A-GPS. It is also worth mentioning that the phone is only 8.5mm thin and measures 127,5 x 69mm.

Customers who are into fashion phones and wish to purchase the LG Prada 3.0 may want to know that there will be a set of Prada accessories out for grabbing as well, including a

docking station and a Bluetooth headset, along with a special Prada bag.

There’s no word on the phone’s price yet, but LG confirmed that the Prada 3.0 is expected to arrive in stores in early 2012.
