With the official launch of the first mobile phones powered by Microsoft's new Windows Phone 7 operating system expected for October, it was only natural that more info on the platform and on the devices that would run under it emerged. Among these details, we can count new photos and a video demonstration of the OS on the same LG prototype that we've seen several times before, the LG Panther.

Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 emerged last week in a series of hands-on videos, and the clip embedded at the bottom of this article is said to be one of them. The video has been published by the guys over at Mobilyz.com (via WMPoweruser) and was shot during the Windows Phone 7 Get Together event in the Netherlands. Among what is being showcased in the clip, users would see the calendar on the upcoming platform, which has been developed so as to show details on events even in the month view. The Windows Phone 7-based LG Panther seems to be one of the most popular devices at Microsoft these days. The phone has been showcased at a wide range of events around the world, and the Windows Phone 7 Get Together event in the Netherlands was only one of the most recent ones. Another such event was held in Singapore, and Techielobang came up with a series of photos with the device taken at the said event.

The new video and photos with the Windows Phone 7 prototype device show that Microsoft is getting closer to having the platform finished and delivered to manufacturers. Originally, the Redmond-based giant announced that the first Windows Phone would hit the shelves in time for the holiday season, yet the latest reports on the matter suggested they should arrive sometime in the October – November time frame. All in all, the OS seems to be shaping up pretty nicely, and the video below should prove that.
