Thinking of buying a new smartphone and you don’t mind doing business with US carrier AT&T while you’re at it? Even if you’re not a big fan of the company, the next offer might help you reconsider the position.

What if we told you that buying any smartphone for $0 down with AT&T Next will also get you a tablet? All Android, BlackBerry, iOS or Windows Phone handsets are eligible in the promotion, but you have to sign a two-year contract with a qualifying data plan with the carrier.

If you abide by these standards, you’ll also be awarded an LG G Pad 7.0 LTE for just $0.99 / €0.79. How does that sound?

If you’re not an LG fan, AT&T is throwing in another offer that will hopefully incite your spirit. The carrier is offering the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 for only $99 / €79 for customers who are willing to pick up any Samsung Galaxy smartphone in the lineup.

Naturally, you’ll have to go under the AT&T Next umbrella or sign a two-year contract with a qualified minimum monthly plan with voice and data. Or there’s another option – a two-year wireless contract with qualifying data plans.

For those of you who can’t remember what these tablets are all about, we’re going to do a quick spec roundup for both models and see what they could bring in your life.

LG G Pad 7.0

The tablet was released in May and is a medium-range device. It comes with a 7-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen offering 1280 x 800 pixel resolution (with 216 ppi).

Power comes from Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor (quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A7) working in concert with Adreno 350 GPU, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.

The tablet runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box and normally sells for $150 / €119.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0

The Samsung official website currently sells it for $239 / €190 (which means a $30 / €24 discount). The device is also targeted at the mid-range market and doesn’t offer anything too mind-blowing.

It takes advantage of an 8-inch TFT display with 1280 x 800 pixels and is equipped with an unnamed quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and backed up by 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

The default operating system on board is Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box, so you won’t have to worry about updates and such.
