Printers are usually large, box-like contraptions that sit on a desk or some special compartment, unless they're furniture-sized themselves.

There are exceptions, like photo printers. The sort of gadget that LG, among others, sometimes makes.

In fact, LG has only just revealed one such printer, called LG PD233 Pocket Photo.

Its role is simple: to connect to a smartphone or tablet via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or NFC, and immediately print the picture files found there on 5.1 x 7.6 cm papers.

An inkless paper system is used, to eliminate the need for ink cartridges, which would add too much of a cost. It also helped the product be so small.

The LG Pocket app must be downloaded before you can use this thing, but that's a small compromise really.

The price of the LG Pocket Photo Printer is Rs 14,990 / $252 / €190.
