LG has just released a new dual-SIM feature-phone in Russia, the LG P520. The handset falls into the lineup of dual-SIM touchscreen phones, which includes the KS660 and GX500.

The Korean manufacturer has chosen another emerging market for the initial launch of its dual-SIM handsets, but the P520 will probably spread worldwide soon afterwards.

The feature-phone comes with a 2.8-inch TFT resistive touchscreen with 262K colors support and 240 x 400 pixels resolution. It measures 108.9 x 55.9 x 12.9 mm and weighs 120g (battery included).

The P520 sports a sub-par 2-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities, but lacks any extra features such as autofocus or flash. It also embeds 15 MB internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 4GB).

When it comes to connectivity, the dual-SIM handset offers limited connectivity options such as GPRS/EDGE class 10 and Bluetooth.

Other key features of the mobile phone include: Stereo FM radio with RDS, microUSB 2.0, Push Email, MP3/AAC player, MP4/H.263 player, English-Russian dictionary and Opera Mini 5.0. There's no information regarding the phone's ability to keep both SIM cards activated at the same time or if it can actually only use one at a time.

The Li-Po 1500 mAh is rated by the manufacturer for 400 hours of standby time or 9 hours of talk time.

The exact launch date of the feature-phone hasn't been unveiled yet, but its price is somewhere around 6,990 rubles (about $222).

The phone seems to be rather expensive, especially considering that it will be available on an emerging market, where the price is often the most attractive feature of a handset.

Customers who cannot afford LG's P520 can go with one of the alternatives offered by other brands such as Nokia with C1-00 or C2.

Depending on the user's needs the C2 keeps both SIM cards active at the same time while the C1-00 can only use one at a time.
