After Asus and Samsung have presented their ultra-portable notebook designs, it is now time for LG to take a swing at creating such a system and the recently showcased P330 really seems to be able to battle it out with the best of them.

The P330 looks a lot like its smaller brother, the P220, but it has received a larger screen, 13.3-inch in comparison with 12.5-inch, as well as more powerful hardware.

This means that under the brushed aluminum and magnesium casing users will find a fully-fledged Intel Core i7 processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture as well as a dedicated graphics card built by Nvidia.

While LG hasn't revealed the Core i7 CPU models that will be offered when the P330 comes out (most probably dual-core chips), we do know that the graphics card is a GeForce GT 555M.

This is actually the fastest GeForce GT part in Nvidia's arsenal and most certainly one of the most powerful graphics solutions to be included inside a 13.3-inch notebook.

Furthermore, the storage subsystem should also be able to keep up with the system as it seems like the P330 will be one of the first notebooks to include support for Intel's Smart Response technology which can use a limited capacity SSD as a fast cache for a regular HDD.

But these aren't all the innovations that LG brings forth with the P330 as the company has opted to pair this ultra-portable with a high-quality IPS-panel display.

This is certainly a nice change from the regular TN screens that are shipped with most current notebooks, and should be a great option for users who require accurate color reproduction.

Right now no details about pricing have been released by LG, but the notebook is expected to become available in the fourth quarter of this year. (via Ndevil)
