Mobile phone carrier Sprint has just announced a new offering put in place for its customers who are looking for the purchase of a new Android-based mobile phone or another device. The LG Optimus S is available for free at the company all the way to December 5th, and a series of other handsets and devices also benefit from this price cut.

The catch here would be the fact that only the LG Optimus S units sold online, via the wireless carrier's website, benefit from the aforementioned $0 price tag.

The regular price tag for this mobile phone was set at $149.99 upon the singing of a two-year contract agreement with the wireless carrier. The contract requirement is still in place for those interested in the purchase of this device with the promotional price tag.

Some of the main features of the new device include:

- Slim, lightweight and sporting Android 2.2 - Customize with Sprint ID – apps, ringtones, widgets and wallpaper bundles - Mobile hotspot to connect up to five devices - 3.2–inch touchscreen with virtual QWERTY keyboard - 3.2 megapixel camera and video camcorder with 2x digital zoom

As stated above, the LG Optimus S was not the only device to have seen a price cut at the wireless carrier, though the offer was made available only for online purchasers.

The list of now free devices also includes the Samsung Restore (usually $99.99 on contract), LG Rumor Touch ($129.99), Sprint 3G/4G USB U600 ($99.99), LG Remarq ($69.99), and the Sanyo Vero by Kyocera ($59.99).

The offer was put in place for both new and existing customers, and requires the signing of a contract agreement with the wireless carrier.

“Taxes and service charges excluded. No cash back. Requires activation at time of purchase. Upgrade: Existing customers in good standing with service on the same device for more than 22 consecutive months currently activated on a service plan of $39.99 or higher may be eligible,” the wireless carrier also announced.
