The newest slate-type product form LG has already been formally introduced and put on display at this year's edition of the Mobile World Congress 2011 expo in Barcelona, but it seems some photos of it have finally graced the web.

Since a couple of our fellow journalists are busy roaming the many booths at the moment, we were able to acquire pictures of quite a few products.

Needless to say, the place was packed with tablets, like Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1, HP's Touchpad and Motorola's XOOM.

LG's Optimus Pad was also among the tablets whose hardware and software were officially detailed.

Now, the same product was kind enough, so to speak, to pose for a few pictures, photos that our colleague snatched not long ago.

The product is powered by the now very well known NVIDIA Tegra 2 SoC (system-on-chip), which has a pair of ARM cores clocked at 1 GHz each.

It can basically handle any multimedia file and even Adobe Flash Player and LG was even willing to implement a better than average screen

The display in question has a diagonal of 8.9 inches and a native resolution of 1,280 x 768 pixels. This implies a bigger work space than other slates, even though HD and better videos aren't playable on it, not at full detail anyway.

Of course, LG made sure to throw an HDMI port into the mix, meaning that one will be able to stream HD/Full HD media over to 3D HDTVs or auxiliary monitors.

Other specifications include a 3D camera array on the back (which can record 3D videos), WiFi, 3G, GPS and Bluetooth.

Unfortunately, the outfit did not provide any sort of pricing details and it is not easy to guess exactly when sales will start, though it shouldn't take too long.

Either way, those interested need only take a look at one of the photos below and decide for themselves if all of the above are packed inside a frame thin and stylish enough.

Note: Fellow editors Cosmin Vasile and Alex Vochin are on the floor at the 2011 Mobile World Congress and are keeping us posted with pictures and live reports on the latest product previews and launches.
