South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics announced officially in the beginning of this week the launch of new handsets in its Optimus series, including the Android 2.2-based LG Optimus One, which has just emerged on T-Mobile UK's coming soon page.

The wireless carrier does not offer a specific time frame for when the new smartphone is expected to make an appearance on its airwaves, but did unveil that the new solution should arrive on its airwaves as the LG Optimus One Navigation Edition.

Moreover, the wireless carrier offers its customers the possibility to register their interest in the new mobile phone, so as to stay up to date with “pre-ordering, prices, plans and everything else you need for the LG Optimus One Navigation Edition mobile phone.”

Additional info on this can be found on the said coming soon page for LG Optimus One Navigation Edition on T-Mobile's website here.

The LG Optimus One was announced officially only a few days ago, when LG unveiled it along with another Optimus device, the LG Optimus Chic.

At that time, the mobile phone maker announced that the new LG Optimus One would arrive on shelves with a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that can boast a HVGA (320 x 480 pixels) resolution.

The display can prove a great option for navigation applications, especially when paired with the handset's built-in GPS receiver, and with support for various LBS.

The specifications list of this handset also includes Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g) and HSDPA 7.2 Mbps connectivity options, as well as a 600 MHz application processor.

The phone also comes with a 3-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus, with 170 MB of internal memory complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space, and a 1500mAh battery.

We should also note that the new device should come with support for a wide range of Google Mobile Services, including Google Voice Search, Google Voice Actions, Google Goggles, Google Shopper and Google Maps with navigation.
