It looks like Sprint plans to introduce the affordable NFC-capable LG Optimus Net. However, the smartphone will be released as Optimus Elite within the coming weeks.

According to the folks over at Pocketnow, LG Optimus Elite will also be available via Virgin Mobile soon after it goes on sale at Sprint. Aside from NFC (Near Field Communications) capabilities, the Optimus Elite doesn’t come up with anything spectacular.

The smartphone sports a decent 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 320 x 480 pixels resolution, a3-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and video recording, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support.

LG Optimus Elite will be shipped with Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread operating system on board. There’s also 150 MB of internal memory, 512 MB of RAM, 512 MB of ROM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
