Canadian wireless carrier TELUS is gearing up for the release of its first LTE-capable devices, and one of them will be the LG Optimus LTE, recent reports around the web suggest.

The handset, a high-end device that packs a 4.5 inch true HD IPS display, is listed on LG’s website as being on its way to TELUS, even if no specific info on its possible release date or pricing has been unveiled as of yet.

The wireless carrier will have this Android-based mobile phone added to its offering along with the highly appealing Samsung Galaxy Note and Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE.

LG Optimus LTE might not be able to measure up against Galaxy Note and its 5.3-inch touchscreen display, but it still has some great capabilities to offer to its users, including its IPS display.

The LTE-capable smartphone is not new to the Canadian market. It was made available for purchase back in November on the airwaves of Bell.

Today, however, it is clear that TELUS too will add it to its offering. Those who will access LG’s website will see the device listed there as being on its way to this wireless carrier.

Here’s what LG notes there:

The striking 4.5 inch true HD IPS display features super-high resolution, brightness and sharpness, and shows natural colours, as they were intended to be seen.

Its powerful 1.5GHz dual-core processor runs on the blazing fast 4G LTE network, and has the ability to reach speeds of up to 75 Mbps. Take a glimpse into the future with LG's Optimus LTE.

The specs list of this device also includes a fast 1.5 GHz dual-core application processor to deliver great multi-tasking capabilities, 1GB of RAM, 10GB of memory inside (Internal 2GB, Micro SD 8GB), and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage.

The smartphone packs an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for full HD video recording, as well as an 1830 mAh battery inside, for extended usage time. The handset runs under Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.
