LG announced last week that it would start the rollout of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for Optimus Vu, Optimus LTE and Optimus LTE Tag on June 4.

True to its promise, the handset maker has just released the highly-anticipated update for LG Optimus LTE, though we’re still expecting the company to make it available for the other two models as well.

Although Ice Cream Sandwich for Optimus LTE is only available in South Korea, LG is expected to roll out the update in other regions as well.

According to the latest hearsay, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system will reach Canada in July, though we don’t have an exact release date yet.

While LG Optimus LTE owners can now update to the latest Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich platform, Optimus Vu and Optimus Tag users will have to wait a bit more until their updates go live.

It appears that the Ice Cream Sandwich update for LG Optimus LTE has been recently confirmed by the company’s PR rep, Ken Hong, who published a photo of his smartphone running Google’s latest Android 4.0.4 operating system.

Those who have yet to receive the update should know that Ice Cream Sandwich for LG Optimus LTE also includes the recently detailed Optimus UI 3.0.

In the same piece of news, the South Korean company promised to upgrade some of its older Optimus smartphones to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but the company delayed the release of the updates a few times by now.

Moreover, there are no details on the US carrier-bounded LG smartphones that have been launched on the market in the last 12 months.

Hopefully, US-based carriers that currently offer ICS-upgradable LG smartphones will come forward with more details on upcoming Android 4.0 updates. Stay tuned for more info on the subject.
