14 DAY TRIAL // Although LG announced the upcoming availability of the Optimus LTE2 two weeks ago, the handset vendor failed to unveil the smartphone’s full specs sheet.
The world’s first smartphone top comes with 2GB of RAM inside, Optimus LTE2 is expected to arrive in South Korea sometime this week.
Today, the company issued another press release, which offers more details on the smartphone’s specs, but the device is dubbed “LG Optimus LTE II.”
Anyway, official word is that the Optimus LTE II boasts a hyper-vibrant 4.7-inch True HD-IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and 16 million colors.
Moreover, it appears that for whatever reasons the smartphone is 10g heavier than the device announced two weeks ago. It is also worth mentioning that the Optimus LTE II will be shipped with the new Optimus 3.0 UI, which has just been detailed.
LG has also confirmed the smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, complemented by an Adreno 225 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.
No word on the storage amount, but it will come with microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 32GB. There’s also an impressive 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.
In addition, the phone’s 2,150 mAh Li-Ion battery has been rated by LG for up to 255 hours of standby time or up to 10 hours of talk time. Obviously, continuous usage time will be much lower.
Obviously, the smartphone’s main selling points will be LTE support and Google’s latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
For the time being, LG confirmed the Optimus LTE II would be launched in South Korea through five carriers. We’re not sure whether this handset will be available outside the country as well.
