Bell announced earlier this month that it will exclusively offer the LG Optimus LTE in the coming weeks. It took the carrier more than two weeks to debut the smartphone, which is now available for a suggested retail price of $629.95 (465 EUR).

According to Bell, the smartphone is “world's first LTE superphone with an HD screen.” Available only from Bell, the Optimus LTE comes with a 4.5-inch True HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display that offers 720p (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution.

In addition, the handset packs a powerful 1.5 GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, which is complemented by an Adreno 220 graphics processing unit to offer a smooth gaming experience.

With full support for Bell's HSPA+ mobile network, the Optimus LTE will provide users with high-speed mobile access, even when outside LTE service areas.

On the back, the LG Optimus LTE features an enhanced 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, while on the front there's a secondary 1.3-megapixel photo snapper for video calls.

The phone is packed with all sorts of sensors, including accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor for auto turn-off, as well as Gyro sensor.

The only downside of the phone is the low amount of onboard memory, only 4GB. However, the storage can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot. On the flip side, the smartphone is delivered with a 16GB memory card in the sales package, which somewhat solves this problem.

LG Optimus LTE is powered by Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but it is likely to receive the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade soemtime next year.

Furthermore, the smartphone comes pre-loaded with Bell Mobile TV service, which allows users to access various channels, including CTV, CTV Two, BNN, CTV News Channel, MTV and Asian Television Network. Additional content, such as sporting events can be watched on TSN, TSN 2 and RDS.
