On Tuesday, wireless carrier T-Mobile has announced the upcoming availability of a new smartphone for its customers, in the form of LG Optimus L90, a device long rumored to arrive on its network.

The wireless services provider has unveiled that the new device is set to land on shelves on April 30, and that it will become one of the cheapest handsets in its offering when it lands.

The LG Optimus L90 will become available for purchase nationwide through T-Mobile retail stores and online on the carrier’s website, and will also be distributed through select dealers and select national retail stores.

Users interested in this device will be able to grab it at $0 down with 24 equal monthly device payments of $9.50 (€7), as long as they go for the Simple Choice Plan. The total cost of the phone is of $228 (€165), the carrier also notes.

The same as other smartphones in the carrier’s offering, the new handset is being offered with “no annual service contract, no overages, no hidden device costs, and no upgrade wait,” the wireless carrier adds.

LG Optimus L90 will hit shelves with a 4.7-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a qHD resolution, as well as with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor packed inside.

Moreover, the new device comes with a 5-megapixel camera on the back, which is complemented by various LG-exclusive advanced camera features, and also offers support for T-Mobile’s 4G LTE network.

The smartphone packs 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, and also features the usual set of connectivity capabilities and sensors packed inside. It runs under the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, with LG’s custom Optimus UI loaded on top.

Additionally, the phone sports a rear cover self-healing paint that was designed to help with the recovery from the normal wear and tear of daily use, such as minor scratches and surface damage from various objects, including keys and more.

T-Mobile also notes that users on other carriers interested in the purchase of the new LG Optimus L90 can now make the switch knowing that the wireless carrier will pay their early termination fee (ETF) when doing so.

In fact, the wireless services provider notes that it is willing to pay the ETFs for users’ families as well when they make the switch, trade in their devices and upgrade.

“As the Un-carrier, we’re relentlessly focused on offering more value to our customers,” said Jason Young, senior vice president of marketing at T-Mobile.
