It’s been more than a week since Mobile World Congress 2012 closed its doors and the new devices announced at the trade fair are about to make their debut on the market.

Even though LG decided against a large press event where it could launch its new lineup of smartphones, the Korean handset maker had quite a consistent presence at the exhibition.

LG announced its own branded “Galaxy Note” phablet called LG Optimus Vu. However, the latter sports “only” a 5.0-inch capacitive touchscreen display with a weird 768 x 1024 pixels resolution support.

Shortly after LG announced its new L-Style series of smartphones, several network operators and retailers confirmed they would carry some of these devices in the near future.

Although LG Canada has been mum on the availability of the new devices in the country, the folks over at MobileSyrup have learned that at least one L-Style smartphone will be released in Canada.

According to the latest hearsay, LG Optimus L7 will be one of the first smartphones in the L-Style family to be released in Canada. Rogers will be carrying the device under its “Smartphone Lite” category, MobileSyrup claims.

LG has yet to officially unveil Optimus L7’s specs sheet, but some details have been confirmed about a week ago. In this regard, the smartphone is powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and features a large 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen display.

Hardware-wise, the phone packs a 1GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4430 processor and 1GB of RAM. The amount of internal memory is unknown for the moment, while the presence of a microSD card slot for memory expansion has yet to be determined.

There’s also a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as a secondary front-facing camera for video calls.
