The single-SIM version of LG Optimus L3 has just landed at Koodo Mobile. The smartphone is now available for purchase for only $125 CAD (95 EUR) outright.

Koodo Mobile customers can also grab the Optimus L3 for free on the Tab. Check it out here. Keep in mind that this budget-friendly smartphone ships with Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system out of the box.

The problem is LG won’t offer an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for the Optimus L3, so customers may want to take this into consideration before purchasing this entry-level smartphone.

LG Optimus L3 is aimed at first-time smartphone users, and according to Koodo Mobile, the device is the right choice for those that “don’t want the latest smartphone but want a phone that is affordable and doesn’t compromise on quality.”

Hardware-wise, the Optimus L3 is far from being impressive, so expect this one to come equipped with a low-performance 800 MHz single-core processor, an obsolete Adreno 200 graphics processing unit and only 384 MB of RAM.

There is only 1 GB of storage inside, but users will probably have much less internal memory at their disposal. Fortunately, the smartphone features microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Just like most budget-friendly Android phones, the Optimus L3 sports a decent 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 240 x 320 pixels resolution and 262k colors.

The smartphone also packs a 3-megapixel rear camera with video recording, but no secondary front-facing camera for video calls.

Other highlights of the LG Optimus L3 include: HSDPA (3.6Mbps) and HSUPA, along with Wi-Fi, DLNA, Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS connectivity.

The phone’s 1500 Li-Ion battery is rated by the manufacturer for up to 600 hours of standby time or up to 12 hours of talk time (10 hours in 3G mode).
