Although it is almost certain that Samsung and HTC will not launch their next Android flagship devices at Mobile World Congress 2013 that takes place next month in Barcelona, LG and Huawei are expected to make important announcements in this regard.

Digitimes reports LG is likely to announce the Optimus G2 in late February, while Huawei plans to launch its thin Ascend P2 smartphone.

The Optimus G2 is the first smartphone manufactured by LG to feature a full HD (1080p) display. The phone is said to be powered by a quad-core processor and will boast an enhanced 13-megapixel rear camera.

Huawei Ascend P2 will sport a similar full HD (1080p) display, but it will be slightly smaller at “only” 4.5 inches.

In addition, Huawei’s superphone will be powered by a 1.8 GHz HiSilicon K3V2 quad-core processor and will pack a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back.
