The update is available beginning March 19 at TELUS, Bell and Rogers

LG already pushed the promised Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade for Optimus G in some countries, but Canadians have yet to receive the update.

However, MobileSyrup reports LG confirmed that the Jelly Bean update for Optimus G would be available in Canada in “late March.”

In fact, LG will start the rollout of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for Optimus G as early as March 19. The first carriers to receive the update are Rogers, Bell, TELUS and SaskTel.

The following changes have been listed among the most important new features and improvements included in this update:

- Touch performance improvement; - A simpler user interface for complex features such as WiFi-Direct and Miracast combined; - Multimedia file transfer through Android Beam; - Lock front key feature for QuickMemo; - A memo scribble feature; - Notification bar enhancements; - Google Now support; - Offline Voice recognition and typing; - Quick Translator; - Exchange task sync support.

Keep in mind that Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for LG Optimus G will be available for download OTA (over the air), as well as a “web download service.”
