South Korean handset maker LG launched one of its top-notch smartphones, the Optimus G, a few months ago.

Sadly, the handset was released with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box, though LG promised that a Jelly Bean upgrade would be available at some point.

Well, it looks like the time has come for LG Optimus G owners to upgrade their units to Jelly Bean. LG has just announced that the update is now available for download in South Korea for three carriers: SK Telecom, LG U+ and KT.

However, we can safely assume that the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update will soon be rolled out globally, so stay tuned for more on this one.

Those who wish to know what the changes included in this update are can head over to LG’s official page here.
