Bad news for LG fans, as the South Korean company has decided to make one of its high-end Android smartphones more expensive in India.

Although LG Optimus G was originally priced at Rs 30,990 ($570/ €440), several major retailers across the country are now offering the smartphone for no less than Rs 32,990 ($605/€470) upfront. Check it out here.

Even though the Optimus G is now shipping with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, this doesn’t seem to be the reason behind LG’s decision to increase the phone’s price.

On the positive side, the phone is still cheaper than LG’s suggested retail price, which was set to Rs 34,500 ($635/€490) off contract.

LG Optimus G is equipped with a powerful 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory.

The phone also boasts an impressive 13-meapixel rear photo snapper, but lacks microSD card slot for memory expansion.
