It will enjoy global availability starting with October

Today, South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics announced the upcoming availability of its LG Optimus G smartphone with a new User Experience (UX) and appealing hardware packed inside.

The new handset provides a great combination of hardware and software, LG notes, adding that it will enable its users to “live without boundaries” courtesy of the aforementioned UX.

LG Optimus G comes to the market with a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro application processor that can deliver better performance and longer battery life.

Moreover, the company has designed the new smartphone with a sleek outer body that will go along with the innovative UX features, for an even better overall experience.

"The Optimus G is a groundbreaking premium device not only in the history of LG but also in the smartphone industry," said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

"With the Optimus G, users will be able to experience unsurpassed UX features that will allow them to perform tasks that really enhance their daily lives."

The hardware specifications of this smartphone include a 1.5GHz Krait CPU Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor (Quad-Core and LTE), complemented by 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory.

LG Optimus G also comes to the market with a 4.7-inch WXGA True HD IPSPLUS (1280 x 768 pixels) touchscreen display that can deliver a 15:9 ratio, as well as with a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back (8MP models also available), and a 1.3MP camera on the front for making video calls.

On the connectivity side, the smartphone offers support for 2G, 3G and 4G networks, while also packing Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, USB2.0 HS, A-GPS, MHL and DLNA, and NFC capabilities.

The handset sports a 2,100mAh (570Wh/L) battery inside, capable of delivering 15 hours of talk time or 335 hours of standby time, measures 131.9 x 68.9 x 8.45mm and weighs 145 grams.

Running under Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, the LG Optimus G is expected to arrive on shelves in Korea next week, followed by key global markets starting with October.
