It looks like AT&T and Sprint will be the first US-based carriers to offer the LG Optimus G high-end smartphone.

Both operators confirmed the upcoming availability of the device, though they failed to unveil any detail regarding Optimus G’s exact release date and pricing options.

However, the press photo showing the AT&T variant of LG Optimus G might indicate both carriers are set to launch it on November 11.

The timeframe is in line with the latest rumors suggesting Google already included the Optimus G among its Nexus range of devices and plans to unleash on the market next month, but under a different moniker, LG Optimus G Nexus.

The Optimus G is LG’s new Android flagship smartphone, though it will be released with an older version of Google’s mobile platform, namely Ice Cream Sandwich.

Have no fear though as LG already confirmed an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update will be pushed through soon after the smartphone gets launched on the market.

Hardware-wise, the Optimus G is really impressive. The smartphone comes equipped with a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with 1.5GHZ Quad-Core Krait CPUs and LTE.

In addition, the device packs 2GB of RAM and an impressive 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, autofocus and full HD (1080p) video recording. An additional front-facing camera for video calls will be available as well.

The phone also boasts a stunning 4.7-inch WXGA True HD IPS Plus capacitive touchscreen display that supports 768 x 1280 pixels resolution.

LG Optimus G is the culmination of cutting-edge technologies provided by LG's class-leading global entities. Drawing upon expertise from the LG Mobile Communications Company, LG Display, LG Chem and LG Innotek , we have carefully designed a new superphone that encourages users to step beyond everyday boundaries and explore a limitless world of power and creativity,” said James Fishler, senior vice president, marketing and go-to-market operations, LG Electronics USA.
