South Korean handset maker LG announced earlier last month it would launch the Optimus G in more countries starting February.

Although the smartphone was officially released on the market last year in August, the Optimus G was shipped with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform out of the box.

The new model is delivered with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system onboard, which is one of the reasons LG decided to delay the phone availability in other countries.

According to The Mobile Indian, sources close to the matter claim “LG Optimus G will be launched in the country in the next two weeks.”

Customers in India will be able to purchase the smartphone via leading retailers across the country for a price that will disclosed closer to launch.

LG Optimus G sports a vibrant 4.7-inch True HD IPS Plus display, a 13-megapixel rear photo snapper and a powerful 1.5 GHz quad-core processor.
