Canadian mobile phone carrier Bell has just put on sale on its airwaves a new handset that runs under Google's Android operating system, the LG Optimus Chic.

The wireless carrier touts the new Android smartphone as being able to offer a great price to its customers, in addition to delivering all the goodies that Android handsets usually pack inside.

In all fairness, since the wireless services provider made the new device available for purchase for free on a three-year contract agreement, the deal seems more than appealing.

The three-year contract length is not the only one available with the new mobile phone, as Bell also offers its users the possibility to purchase the device for $199.95 on a two-year deal, or for only $224.95 on a one-year contract.

Of course, if there are those who would like to acquire the new device free of contract, they would be able to do so, while having to pay $249.95 for the LG Optimus Chic.

“The LG Optimus Chic offers the best of Android at a great price, including access to thousands of apps through Android Market, preloaded Google services and a portable Wi-Fi hotspot. The Chic is also packed with features like Bell TV & Radio, a 5 megapixel camera and more,” Bell notes on its website.

The specifications list of the new handset includes Dual-band HSPA 850/1900 and Quad-band GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 connectivity, as well as support for bell's HSPA network, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 capabilities.

The smartphone also includes GPS receiver, a 5-megapixel camera with flash and auto focus, Headset jack (3.5 mm), 150 MB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card for additional storage space (a 2GB card included in the package).

The specs list of the new handset also includes a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that can deliver a 320 x 480 pixels (HVGA) resolution, and a battery that can offer up to 5.5 hours of talk time, or up to 450 hours of standby time.
