Recently launched in Singapore, the LG Optimus Black has also received a price tag in the UK, where it should become available later this month.
The first LG mobile phone to feature a bright NOVA display, the Optimus Black can be purchased in Singapore for approximately €430.
However, it
will be available for free in the UK from T-Mobile, both with a new two-year contract and a plan starting from £25.54 per month.
Even though the release date for T-Mobile UK is still a mystery, Expansys UK is also offering the Optimus Black for €460.
Pre-orders for the unlocked version of the smartphone are already up, but its availability is scheduled for April 18.
The super slim handset has been showcased at the 2011 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, along with the new LG Android smartphone flagship Optimus 2X.
The smartphone's 4.0-inch NOVA display is, at the moment, the brightest on the mobile market and is capable of emitting 700 nits (candela per square meter). It features 16 million colors support, 480 x 800 pixels resolution and comes with accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, as well as proximity sensor for auto turn-off.
The device is powered by a single TI OMAP 3630 1 GHz processor and runs on Android 2.2 Froyo. Although the manufacturer hasn't mentioned a specific timeline, the phone's software is upgradable to version 2.3 Gingerbread.
LG Optimus UI 2.0 and Gesture UI 2.0 have also been included and run on top of the Android operating system.
In terms of connectivity, the phone prides itself with the latest technologies such as: HSDPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA function, Wi-Fi Direct-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and EDR support.
The Optimus Black is expected to be delivered with an extra back cover included in the sales package, but owners will also be able to purchase specially designed Keith Haring back covers.
LG has recently announced a partnership with the Keith Haring Foundation that will see the American pop star’s artwork featured on the Optimus Black.
