Canadian mobile phone users interested in the purchase of a Windows Phone can now benefit from a real treat when choosing an LG Optimus 7 smartphone.

The handset comes with a free 12 month subscription to Xbox LIVE Gold, as long as the mobile phone has been purchased anytime between December 15th and January 31st.

Those who would like to benefit from the deal will have to acquire a new LG Optimus 7 handset, available on the airwaves of TELUS in the country. As soon as this step is made, Canadians will have to go to this website to register.

“Offer valid for LG Optimus 7 with Windows Phones purchased between December 15, 2011 and January 31, 2012. Redemptions must be received by March 1, 2012,” Microsoft explains.

“Double check the cell phone number and device number you've keyed in. Submissions with duplicate or inaccurate numbers will not be honored.”

What users should bear in mind is the fact that there are only 1250 codes available for the 12 month Xbox LIVE Gold subscription. The promotion will end when the last of them is distributed.

It should also be noted that the offer is available only for LG Optimus 7 smartphones that have been purchased with a voice plan on TELUS’ airwaves.

Featuring a 1 GHz Qualcomm QSD8250 application processor, a 3.8" WVGA (480x800) screen and 16GB of internal memory, this is a highly appealing smartphone.

It also comes with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for 720p video recording, as well as with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities, and with a Play To feature to connect to a DLNA enabled TV.

“With the LG Optimus 7, you are part of the social network. Its new Play To feature lets you share multimedia files with other devices. Enjoy voice-to-text, HD video, and enhanced search that brings you information at lightning speed,” Microsoft describes the device.
