Mobile phone users in India will soon be able to benefit from the features and capabilities that LG Optimus 4X HD has to offer.

The smartphone was confirmed for the local market for May, though a specific release date hasn’t been offered as of now.

South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics is getting ready to launch a number of no less than 12 handsets on the market in India this year.

The LG Optimus 4X HD will be the first of them, enabling people in the country to take advantage of the power of a quad-core application processor, complemented by 1GB of RAM.

The mobile phone also packs 16GB of internal memory, an 8.1-megapixel photo snapper with LED flash on the back, and a 1.3MP front camera for video calling. The mobile phone is powered by Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform.
