LG is currently updating its Android flagship smartphone, the Optimus G to Jelly Bean platform. The South Korean handset maker already pushed the update in many regions and is now selling the smartphone with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean out of the box.

However, the Optimus G is not the only LG smartphone to get updated this month. GSMArena reports LG Germany confirmed via its official blog site that the same Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean upgrade would be available for Optimus 4X HD and Optimus L7.

In fact, the company stated that the upgrade would be available for the unlocked version of LG Optimus 4X HD and Optimus L7, while the carrier-bounded models will get the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean upgrade a bit later as the update needs mobile operators’ approval.

LG also released the official changelog for the upcoming update and mentioned it would include Project Butter, which allows an even smoother control and responsiveness.

The update also includes improved alerts and notifications, along with the usual Google Now, Android Beam 2.0, as well as support for Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS).

With the new expandable notifications, users will get richer alerts that can be expanded and collapsed with a pinch or swipe. In addition, notifications will support new types of content, including photos. They will have configurable priority and can even include multiple actions.

The update will also bring resizable app widgets, simplified task navigation, new media and connectivity capabilities and more.

According to LG, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update will be available for download via LG Mobile Support Tool, but it won’t come as a surprise if it gets pushed OTA (over the air) as well.

As we mentioned earlier, LG confirmed that both Optimus 4X HD and Optimus L7 would receive the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update in late March, so stay tuned for more info on the matter.
