The smartphone will be available for $549 CAD outright

Canadian carrier WIND Mobile has just announced the upcoming availability of LG Optimus 4X HD Android smartphone. The device is set to arrive on the operator's airwaves on October 18.

Customers will be able to purchase the Optimus 4X HD for as low as $199 CAD on WINDtab with the WIND40 plan.

The smartphone will also go on sale for $399 CAD on WINDtab with the WIND25 plan. Those who do not wish to commit to a long-term plan can grab it for $549 CAD upfront.

LG Optimus 4X HD will be shipped with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform out of the box and Optimus UI 3.0 on top of it.

Hardware-wise, the smartphone has been confirmed to pack a more than decent 1.5GHz quad-core processor, an ULP GeForce graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

The Optimus 4X HD comes with 16GB of storage inside, but users will be able to further expand internal memory up to 64GB via microSD card.

On the back, LG's smartphone features a 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 1.3-megapixel camera.

Last but not least, the device boasts a vibrant 4.7-inch True HD-IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution, and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating.
