14 DAY TRIAL // LG Optimus 3D, the first mobile phone unveiled to the world with support for the recording and playback of 3D content, is now available for purchase in the UK via The Carphone Warehouse.
The handset can be purchased with contract options from O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone, and is available for free on monthly contracts that start at £35 per month.
The mobile phone was unveiled to the world in January during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, but started to hit the shelves around the world only a few days ago.
The handset comes with a large 4.3-inch touchscreen display and with a dual-core application processor inside, for increased performance capabilities.
On the back, it sports dual 5-megapixel cameras for the recording of 3D content. The mobile phone can record 3D videos in HD (720p), as well as 2D content in full HD (1080p).
“LG Optimus 3D is the first phone to record and play 3D movies! You can enjoy glasses-free, full 3D playback on the stereoscopic 4.3" display, and record your own 3D movies with two rear 5 MP cameras,” the UK retailer notes on its website.
On its large touchscreen display, the LG Optimus 3D can playback 3D content without the need of stereoscopic glasses.
The specifications list of the new device also includes a dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor, 1GB of dual-channel RAM, along with 8GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.
The mobile phone measures 128.8 x 68 x 11.9 mm and weighs in at 168 g. It comes with 3G connectivity capabilities, as well as with WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities, built-in GPS receiver, USB port, and more.
LG Optimus 3D runs under Google's Android 2.2 operating system and offers support for applications available for download via the Android Market, as well as for a variety of Google Mobile Services.
