Officially introduced last month at the 2011 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, LG Optimus 3D has just been confirmed by AT&T as LG Thrill 4G. However, the carrier has been vague regarding the phone's availability and stated that the Thrill will hit the shelves “in coming months.”

Equipped with a high-speed dual-core and dual channel 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor, complemented by a PowerVR SGX540 GPU, the phone packs 512 MB RAM and 8 GB of internal memory.

The phone's main attraction is the 4.3-inch 3D LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors and 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

Furthermore, the Thrill 4G is also the first smartphone in the United States to feature glasses-free 3D view, shoot and share technology.

Thanks to the dual 5-megapixel stereoscopic 3D cameras included, users will be able to capture crystal-clear 3D images and record 720p HD 3D videos.

HDMI-out and DLNA features offer wireless content streaming options, making sharing 3D content with the people and networks much easier.

“LG is very excited to offer the LG Thrill 4G to the next generation of thrill seekers. We have taken mobile phone technology to the next level with another first to market feature, this time being 3D capabilities,” said Tim O'Brien, vice president of marketing for LG Mobile Phones. “This device elevates everyday tasks and entertainment to a new dimension of smartphone performance, giving LG Thrill 4G an edge over other devices in the emerging superphone category.”

The smartphone is delivered with the Android 2.2 operating system at launch, which will be upgradable to 2.3 Gingerbread at a later date.

Although LG stated that the phone is powered by a high energy 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery, further details regarding the battery's life haven’t been disclosed yet.

The LG Thrill will feature support for AT&T's 4G LTE network and will be available exclusively at AT&T retail stores.
