The upgrade brings a bunch of improvements and new features

That “Advanced” Android 2.3 Gingerbread upgrade for the Optimus 3D announced by LG last week has just gone live and is now available for download.

Obviously, the update is only available for European unbranded LG Optimus 3D units, but it will soon be released by carriers as well.

Unfortunately, LG Optimus 3D owners that already upgraded their devices to Android 2.3 Gingerbread reported that the promised “advanced features” are nowhere to be found.

There’s no image stabilization for the 2D shooting, or the 3D video editor that should allow users to create and edit 2D and 3D movies easier directly on their phones.

Anyway, Android 2.3 Gingerbread for Optimus 3D is now available for download via LG updating tool, and should be deployed OTA (over the air) within the next few days.
