LG Optimus 2X, the first ever Android-based mobile phone to pack a dual core processor inside, has just made an appearance at a Swedish e-retailer, where it is currently listed with both

on and off contract options.

The price tag for this device seems to have been set at 4999 Swedish kronor, which is around about €555 or $730, in case one would opt to purchase it free of contract.

However, those interested in getting the phone with a contract agreement would have to pay 3099 Swedish kronor for it, which would be around €345 or $450.

The LG Optimus 2X was announced officially only a few days ago, when LG stated that it should become available for purchase starting with January in Korea, with other markets in Europe and Asia to follow shortly after.

It comes as a surprise that the Swedish retailer Cdon.se (via Android Police) has already put the device on a pre-order status, that’s for sure. However, we should expect for other retailers to follow suit in the near future.

In the meantime, we should note that this is the first handset that would arrive on shelves with an NVIDIA Tegra 2 1Ghz Dual-core Processor, while also running under the Android 2.2 Froyo operating system.

The mobile phone sports a 4-inch touchscreen display that boasts a WVGA resolution, and 8GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

The specifications list of this handset also includes an 8 megapixel rear camera and 1.3 megapixel front camera, along with 1080p MPEG-4/H.264 playback and recording capabilities, HDMI mirroring, and a 1,500 mAh battery that would offer increased usage time.

The LG Optimus 2X can connect wirelessly to any DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) compatible digital device such as HD TVs for a console-like gaming experience taking full advantage of the phone’s HDMI mirroring, accelerometer and gyro sensor,” LG says about the phone.

Although it would arrive on shelves with Froyo on board, the LG Optimus 2X is expected to receive an update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread soon after launch.
