LG KF510, the fancy and slim slider phone first revealed by LG in February, during MWC 2008, will be commercially available starting this week. The South Korean producer will start offering the device to all the important mobile retailers across Europe, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. The new handset will be available in two version, Sunset Red and Stardust Dark Grey, both looking very nice thanks to the color gradations used.

LG KF510 weighs 91 grams and only measures 10.9 millimeters in thickness, being one of the slimmest sliders ever created. The phone packs a touch-sensitive navigation pad that uses an Interactive Touch Lighting system, allowing users to easily navigate and scroll through its animated menu. Other nice features include a 3.15 Megapixel camera with image stabilizer, auto focus, flash and video recording, a 2.2-inch TFT display with 256K colors and 240 x 320 pixels, Auto Luminance Control for automatic brightness adjustment, Media player with MP3 and MPEG-4 support, FM radio, Java MIDP 2.0, mobile email, WAP 2.0/xHTML browser, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, USB 2.0 and so on.

In terms of connectivity, KF510 only offers support for tri-band GSM networks (900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz), hence there's no 3G, a fact that could be considered a serious drawback by many users.

"2008 is the year for a new paradigm in mobile phone design and LG is setting the benchmark," declared Dr. Skott Ahn, Chief Executive Officer of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. "We have established ourselves as a leader in this field and the LG-KF510 is a unique addition in our mobile portfolio. With its sleek aesthetic and superior technology, it will appeal to many discerning consumers that value both style and substance."

No word yet about LG KF510's retail price nor about a future North American version of it.
