Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless has just announced the launch of a new messaging device on its airwaves, the LG Octane. The new device is set to become available for purchase on its airwaves staring tomorrow, with a full QWERTY keyboard included in the package.

According to the wireless carrier, the new phone also comes with seamless integration of Facebook, MySpace and Twitter via Social Beat, so as to keep users connected at all time with their social networking accounts.

The LG Octane also comes with a sleek, dark brown outer case, as well as with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 16 GB of additional storage space.

Some of the main features of the new device include:

- Social Beat Widget – offers a single point for accessing social networking sites, allowing customers to stay connected to Facebook, Twitter and MySpace plus more than 50 news, sports and entertainment feeds - Bluetooth 2.1 capabilities with support for the following profiles: headset; hands-free; dial-up networking; object push for vCard and vCalendar; stereo; file transfer; phonebook access; basic printing; basic imaging; human interface; message access; and instant sharing of music, photos and videos - Built-in music player with music library, repeat and shuffle features, as well as stereo sound via headset or Bluetooth

Moreover, the handset comes with voice commands, as well as with favorites shortcut keys, so that one can access more easier a number of up to 10 contacts with picture ID.

The phone includes support for V CAST Music with Rhapsody, as well as Mobile E-Mail client 4.0, support for Skype mobile, and for Visual Voice Mail and HTML Web Browser.

On the back, the device sports a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus, flash aand video recording capabilities.

The LG Octane will hit Verizon stores with a price tag of $99.99 attached to it upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement and after a $50 mail-in rebate.

“Customers will receive the rebate in the form of a debit card; upon receipt, customers may use the card as cash anywhere debit cards are accepted,” the carrier announced.
