Chocolate for the masses

LG KG280 is the cheaper alternative that LG will bring for their worldwide successful Chocolate phone KE800. Their goal is to make this phone concept available for everyone, at a much larger scale.

More than 10 million in reported sales seem to have been not enough for LG for the first Chocolate phone model. The handset producer wants to take this success even further, with a version of this mobile phone which will become available for the masses.

The KG280 phone model looks like LG Chocolate, but it is not LG Chocolate. This can be easily seen in the performances that the handset is capable of reaching. It comes equipped with a 256k color TFT display capable of a resolution of up to 128 x 160 pixels.

The phone will come in two colors, black and wine red. Moreover, connectivity will be available through Bluetooth and USB, which still matches the performance of quite evolved handsets.

One thing which has not been changed on the original LG Chocolate phone model is the touch sensitive buttons. It is actually great news, as all the magic of this phone concept resides in this feature. What would LG chocolate be without those buttons which need special care in handling, as they are not designed for any fingers?

From now on, the next time you see an LG Chocolate phone just stop wondering whether that is the real thing or if it is just a cheap replica of it. Still, differences listed until now announce the LG KG280 model to be an evolved phone too, as it manages to pack high performances. Whether there are even more differences that LG is not telling us, we will see for sure once the phone becomes available for purchase.

LG KG280 will be available for a price ranged somewhere between 100 and 150 euros. This is more than half from the original price of 300 euro that LG Chocolate comes at.
