Rumors on the upcoming release of LG's first Nexus device heat up. Multiple sources claim the smartphone will be launched later this month, though it's unclear yet whether the LG Nexus G will be exclusive to carriers.

CNET has it that the Nexus G by LG will be released on the market in late October with Android 4.2 out of the box.

While we don't have an exact launch date or pricing options, it appears that more Nexus devices will be making their debut this fall.

Samsung, HTC and Sony Mobile are among those companies who are rumored to ready new devices in the Nexus series.

LG Nexus G is a slightly different version of the Optimus G superphone that was made official by the South Korean company last month.

The device will be equipped with a powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, which will be complemented by 2GB of RAM. It will also boast a 4.7-inch True HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display with HD resolution.
