As expected, LG has just announced the upcoming availability of the Nexus 4 smartphone in Hong Kong. The device is expected to hit shelves at some point in mid-December at authorized resellers.

According to GSMInsider, customers will be able to purchase the Nexus 4 for no less than HKD$4398 off contract, which is about $565 or €435.

LG will only make the 16GB version available initially, but the 8GB model will arrive in Hong Kong as well at a later date.

LG Nexus 4 is one of the best-selling Android smartphones due to its low price. However, it looks like customers in Hong Kong won’t receive the same treatment as Android fans in other regions, who can grab the smartphone for much less.

Keep in mind that LG Nexus 4 can be purchased via Google Play Store from around $300/€230, which is much more affordable than the phone’s price announced in Hong Kong.

All in all, the Nexus 4 is a pretty solid addition to the Nexus series, which is why it’s so hard to come by.

The smartphone was sold out in most countries a few hours after it went on sale. This will probably happen in Hong Kong as well, even though it’s priced a bit higher.

Nexus 4 will ship with Android 4.2 operating system out of the box, but a 4.2.1 Jelly Bean update is already available for download.

Hardware-wise, the handset packs a powerful 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. Keep in mind that the Nexus 4 does not come with microSD card slot for memory expansion.

On the back, the device sports an enhanced 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while on the front there’s a secondary 1.3-megapixel camera for video calls.

It is also worth mentioning that the Nexus 4 boasts a stunning 4.7-inch True HD IPS Plus capacitive touchscreen display that supports 768 x 1280 pixels resolution, and features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating.
