The sequel to LG Neon has just landed at Rogers Wireless, and from its specs sheet it seems to be an improved version of the original LG Neon. The Canadian carrier is offering the LG Neon 2 starting today for as low as $19.99 on a 3-year contract.

Besides its increased memory and display size, as well as stylish design, the LG Neon 2 is a little bit heavier than its sibling, weighing 122g (including battery), compared with 109g of the original.

For those out of the loop, LG Neon 2 comes with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 3-inch QQVGA touch screen display with a resolution of 240×400 (262K colors), 42 MB internal memory, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 8 GB), FM radio, MP3 player, Bluetooth, as well as a 2-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities.

While the featurephone isn't the best in its class, it might be a good choice for Rogers' subscribers that are looking for a simple and cheap phone.

LG Neon 2 measures 107.5×52.5×15.9mm and features a poor sales package: Battery, Charger, Stereo Headset, Data Cable.

The handset also includes the social networking services package, which helps users to stay connected with their friends and families on the go.

You will be able to upload pictures to Facebook, Tweet about your daily adventures, or change your mood on MySpace, all these using the LG Neon 2.

Even though you'll stucked for three year with the Canadian carrier to get the cheapest price ($19.99 on a 3-year contract), Rogers Wireless subscribers get three more options: $69.99 on a 2-year contract, $124.99 on a 1-year contract, or $174.99 on a month-to-month plan.

All in all, LG Neon 2 is an interesting affordable featurephone, that should make it easier for those SNS fans to manage their social networks accounts whenever they want and wherever they are.

i have recently gotten one of these phones and i HATE it !! ... but unfortunately i am unable to take it back because with the contract you have 2 weeks or 30 mins of phone time - we were not told about this just the two weeks .. anyways 30 minutes means any phone calls or texts. each text sent or read equals 1 minute .. so beware of this ... i just find this phone is not that easy to scroll the touch screen for contacts and what is with the AVATARS !! who really needs that on a phone ??!!
