With releases of popular mobile phones like the LG Chocolate or LG FUSIC music phones, it doesn't come as a surprise that
LG Electronics MobileComm U.S.A INC. has secured its second spot in mobile phone sales in the United States for the third quarter of 2006.

In fact, LG Electronics has shipped approximately 7 million handsets in Q3 of 2006, increasing shipment market share in North America to 17.2 % and its dominance as a handset maker world-wide. Apart from that, LG has also secured the number one spot for global CDMA sales for the quarter, with a 23.5% worldwide market share.

"As LG Mobile Phones continues to produce innovative handsets that meet the demand of the current consumer marketplace, we are proud to have secured the number two spot for phone shipments in North America," said Juno Cho, president, LG Electronics MobileComm U.S.A., Inc. "LG's CDMA sales have maintained strong momentum in the third quarter of 2006 and our steady expansion into the GSM market is being met with encouraging results. A testament to this tremendous growth is our relentless dedication as a company to offer consumers the most innovative and technologically advanced wireless communication devices, such as our global sensation Chocolate, that enhance their lifestyle."

With the planned release of the LG Shine mobile phone series, as well as their collaboration with Prada, aiming to develop iconic mobile phones, LG will most likely continue shipping a massive number of mobile phones in the future.
